Since it's formation in July 2000, the Irish Strength Association have gone from strength to strength, boasting over 50 members, many of whom have competed in the highest levels of Strongest Man competitions.
The success of Ireland's Strongest Man has brought thousands of people from across Ireland. Events such as Samson Scales, Viking Press and Stones of Strength create a wonderful, energetic atmosphere for all the family, young and old alike.
For many years our top competitors have been able to compete in Great Britain as well as Ireland representing the Irish Strength Association in other competitions.
We are proud to say that 4 of our top strongmen qualified for the televised UK Strongest Man - Ultimate Strength Challenge and we've had competitors competing in other televised shows such as Britain's, Europes, Worlds Stongman Cup, Super Series and World Strongest Man just to name but a few of the top international shows.
With the success of various Strongman competitions in mind, the Irish Strength Association was formed, holding the following principles dear to our hearts:
- To promote strength/strength events in Ireland;
- To produce world class strongmen;
- To create more awareness in the potential of promotion and advertising through strongmen and women;
- To take strength events and strongmen across Ireland worldwide.
