Riku Kiri
Riku Kiri was one of a long line of Finish strength Strongmen selected for the World's Strongest Man competitions. The many contests in his homeland have nurtured greats such as Ilkka Nummisto, Markku Suonenvirta and Ilkka Kinnunen and in open competitions, valuable prizes have attracted the cream of international competitors to Finland.

Kiri has been remarkably successful in beating off all opposition whether from home or abroad and finished third in the World's Strongest Man competitions of 1993 and 1994, having entered these competions as one of the favourites.

In the early part of the 1996 season, he won every contest he entered. Most notably Europe's Strongest Man and the World Grand Prix in a three competition tour of Lithuania. IN the World Strongest Man contest of 1996, Riku started very strongly and looked a likely winner, but two injuries sustained during the contest and took their toll. He finished in second place.

Coming from a powerlifting background and security work, this professional strongman is particularly noted for his excellent bench press of 302.5kg and for the strength of his grip. He set the first world record in the Hercules Hold.
