Dear Strength Members

Firstly I would like to wish each and every one of you a prosperous New Year 2009 in strength if not your pocket in this economic downturn. We have a fun packed year ahead with all three association sports, Strongman, Highland Games and Arm Wrestling.

To kick off I would like to thank all our members for a successful 2008 and congratulate all our winners.

Great to see so many new and old competitors making an appearance this year. Hope they all cause a stir for 2009.

UK Strongest Man was a great success this year with over 100 hours of airtime on BRAVO Television. This year will be bigger than ever with Belfast Tall Ships being the venue on 13^th – 16^th August. A four mast ship arm-over-arm being one of the Ultimate Strength Challenges (not to be missed)

This year’s event was a huge success for the ISA with 3 Irish Men making the final 8. Winner Glenn Ross, Runner up Dave Warner and his first time ever in a major competition 5^th place James Fennelly, Co Kilkenny. Awesome performances from the Irish, proving we in ISA are the ones to beat at UKSM.
